Following their pre-meeting chat with the press, the two were spotted strolling together.

Sir Keir Starmer expressed his belief that the US and the UK were “strategically aligned” when they began discussing the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine.

In response to a query on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war threats, US President Joe Biden said, “I don’t think much about Vladimir Putin.”

The president and prime minister were spotted in the White House Blue Room with their teams at the beginning of the tour.

Biden and Starmer are anticipated to talk about the current crisis in Ukraine, following President Volodymyr Zelensky’s expression of annoyance over the continued limitations on the use of Western weaponry against Russian targets.

This coincides with the US president indicating a renewed willingness to permit Ukraine to launch long-range missiles into Russia, over Vladimir Putin’s apprehensions that doing so may spark “war.”

US sources had earlier told CNN that they did not anticipate Biden approving the US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to be launched against targets within Russia right away.

Still, Kiev has received the UK’s long-range Storm Shadow missiles. They are currently only used in conjunction with similar French weaponry inside the borders of Ukraine.

Biden and Starmer will talk about US approval for any changes to that policy during their meeting today.
